  1. To counteract any tendency to slouch – stand with feet shoulder width apart and hands on hips, stretch your body backwards into a bow shape. Be careful not to hurt your back. Keep your shoulders back and raise your sternum (breast bone). Feel your side muscles stretch to their full length. It's a good idea to do this exercise at intervals if you sit at a desk all day.

  2. Fill your lungs with air and stretch up from the waist as though you are about to sing. This helps to lift you to your full height, keep your shoulders back and down.
